My Endorse Starter Kit Arrived

My Endorse starter kit arrived today! I am so excited about this new program! How does saving 10% off many of your everyday purchases sound? Here is an overview of how the new Endorse program works:

1. Endorse your favorite brands and products and get access to unprecedented rewards. I suggest Endorsing SafewayTargetWalmart & BestBuy to start!

2. Shop at the stores  or buy the specific products you Endorse.

3. POP your receipts into the pre-paid mailer (like Netflix), stick it in the mail, and get your cash back. **You are automatically mailed 2 envelopes when you sign-up.

4. Invite your friends to follow your endorsements and POP, they’ll earn 10% cash back too. If 5 followers POP your endorsement, you’ll get the endorsed product or entire store purchase for FREE.

A Few Notes/Tips

  • Endorse works through a Facebook app so you must have a Facebook account.
  • The 10% cash back is after coupons & tax.
  • The “Five & Free” program will give you back  an average of what your friends spent. So if you spend $500 and each of your 5 friends spend $10, you will only get $10 not $500.
  • You can only earn cash back on purchases after you “endorse” them.
  • As of right now there is no limit to the amount of cash back or the amount of “five & free” earnings you can receive.
  • You will receive a check in the mail after you have earned $25 in rewards.
Sign-up for Endorse Now! You can also head over to read their FAQ’s.

Safeway Coupon Policy

The Safeway coupon policy is clear and concise. Below are the major points of their coupon policy that apply to Safewaystores in Grand Junction, Colorado. It is valid as of October 2011. View the Safeway Coupon Policy in its entirety HERE.

Manufacturer and Store Coupons
  • Safeway Doubles Coupons up to $1.00 (exception is digital & store coupons). Coupons over $1.00 are redeemed at face value. **We are lucky to have this policy at our store!
  • If the face value of the coupon is for more than the product, then the cashier will markdown the value of the coupon to match the price of the product. They do not offer overages. **It helps if you write the product price on the coupon so the cashier doesn’t have to search your receipt to find it.
  • Paper coupons must be presented at the time of the purchase transaction. We will accept only coupons issued by Safeway or the manufacturer of the relevant product. We will not accept photocopies of coupons.
  • There is no limit to the amount of like coupons you can use, unless stated on the coupon. **This allows for shelf clearing, but is frowned upon by other couponers.
  • Coupons may not be applied against any free item received in any offer.
  • Safeway will not accept manufacturer coupons that display another retailer’s logo or name unless such coupon is for a specific item with the same product identifiers as the product included in our customer’s purchase transaction.
  • We will not accept coupons unless they have an expiration date. Expired coupons will not be accepted.
  • We will not accept coupons that, appear distorted or blurry or are altered in any way.
  • Sales taxes will be applied in accordance with the law of the applicable state, regardless of any coupon or other discount that may apply to the purchase transaction.
  • All applicable bottle and packaging deposits on the purchased and free items must be paid by the customer.
  • Safeway reserves the right to refuse any coupons at its discretion.
  • Purchase reward thresholds (if any) will be calculated based upon customer’s final price (after deducting Club Card savings and all other discounts and savings) before deductions for any manufacturer coupons. As an example (and not as an offer), if a $10 minimum purchase is required for a customer reward, a customer’s order at full retail would be $12, a Club Card discount of $1.75 applies, and a manufacturer’s coupon of $1 applies, the customer would be given credit for a $10.25 purchase, and would be eligible for the reward (assuming compliance with all other requirements) even though the customer’s cash payment would be only $9.25. The manufacturer’s coupon would not be deducted from the total for purposes of determining reward eligibility. Purchase reward thresholds (if any) will be calculated based upon customer’s final price (after deducting Club Card savings, and all other discounts.
    • References to a threshold purchase requirement will exclude purchases of: Beer, Wine, Spirits, Tobacco Products, Fuel, All Fluid Items in the Refrigerated Dairy Section (including Fluid Dairy and Dairy Substitutes), Prescription Items and Co-payments, Bus/Commuter Passes, Fishing/Hunting Licenses and Tags, Postage Stamps, Money Orders, Money Transfers, Ski Tickets, Amusement Park Tickets, Event Tickets, Lottery Tickets, Phone Cards, Gift Cards, and Gift Certificates; also excluded are: Bottle Deposits, Redemption Values, and Sales Taxes.
Internet Printed Coupons

  • We gladly accept internet printed coupons. The same manufacturer and store coupon rules above apply to all internet printed coupons.
  • Internet printed coupons must be capable of scanning at checkout.
  • Internet printed coupons must have serial numbers and must follow an industry-standard format.
  • Manufacturer internet printed coupons must clearly indicate that they are a manufacturer coupon and must have a valid manufacture address on the printed coupon.
  • We will not accept “free product” internet printed manufacturer coupons.
Load to Card Club Coupons (eCoupons)

  • Internet and digital coupons that have been electronically loaded to a Safeway Club Card are automatically redeemed at the time of purchase after the club card number has been entered. All other coupon policies above apply to electronic coupons that are loaded to a club card.
Coupon Stacking

  • Safeway does not allow a customer to redeem two or more manufacturer coupons against the same item in a single transaction.
  • Coupon stacking policies for manufacturer coupons apply to paper and electronic coupons that have been loaded to a club card.
  • If a customer presents two coupons for the same item in a single transaction, Safeway will give the highest discount for that item, subject to the terms of the applicable offer and/or coupon.
Rainchecks

  • Rainchecks expire ninety (90) days from the date issued and will not be accepted at any Safeway store after that time.
  • We reserve the right to limit Raincheck quantities based on product availability and advertised limits.
  • Rainchecks can be issued for up to six (6) items unless otherwise stated in the applicable advertisement.
  • Rainchecks can be issued for all items, excluding Beer, Wine, Spirits, Tobacco Products, Fuel, All Fluid Items in the Refrigerated Dairy Section (including Fluid Dairy and Dairy Substitutes), which exclusions may vary from state to state.
  • Rainchecks can be offered for store super coupon items unless otherwise specified on the coupon. Rainchecks will not be provided for items advertised as “clearance”, “while supplies last,” “limited quantities,” or other designation indicating a limited supply.

CityMarket Coupon Policy

CityMarket is part of the Kroger Family and is very similar to King Soopers. Here is the coupon policy based on the CityMarket stores in Grand Junction, Colorado. This is valid as of October 2011, but remember the manager always has the final say.

GENERAL

  • CityMarket Doubles Coupons up to $1.00 (exception is digital coupons). Coupons over $1.00 are redeemed at face value. **We are lucky to have this policy at our store!
  • Only 4-like coupons can be used per transaction. **I like this policy it keeps shelf clearers from taking all of the good deals.
  • There is a limit of one electronic or paper manufacturer coupon per item. The opportunity to stack is no longer available. A digital coupon and manufacturer paper coupon may not be combined on the purchase of a single item.
  • If the face value of the coupon is for more than the product, then the cashier will markdown the value of the coupon to match the price of the product. They do not offer overages. **It helps if you write the product price on the coupon so the cashier doesn’t have to search your receipt to find it.
  • If you have loaded an electronic coupon to your CityMarket Reward card, then the digital coupon will apply before the manufacturer paper coupon.
  • You must use a CityMarket reward card to receive sale prices.
  • City Market reward card customers receive Loyal Customer Mailings that include coupons tailored directly to the products they buy most. **They offer the best rewards via mail than any other store.  I always receive coupons for FREE products!
  • CityMarket offers a number of ways to save through different programs:
    • Generic Drug Pricing ($4/30-day supply and $10/90-day supply)
    • Fuel Rewards – Customers can save 10 cents per gallon at CityMarket Fuel Centers and at participating Shell locations in the area when they earn 100 fuel rewards points  ($1 = 1 point).
DIGITAL

  • Digital and store coupons do not double**I suggest only loading digital coupons that are valued at $1 or more and use paper coupons for anything less than $1 so that they will double.
  • A limit of 150 digital coupons can be loaded onto your reward card at one time.
  • If you have loaded an electronic coupon to your CityMarket Reward card, then the digital coupon will apply before the manufacturer paper coupon.
  • There is a limit of one electronic or paper manufacturer coupon per item. The opportunity to stack is no longer available. A digital coupon and manufacturer paper coupon may not be combined on the purchase of a single item.
  • A digital coupon cannot be removed from a transaction once it is redeemed.  **If you want to use a MQ coupon and not a digital coupon make sure the cashier scans the MQ coupon first before you swipe your reward card.
PRINTABLE COUPONS
  • Printable coupons are only accepted if they scan properly.
  • “Free” product printable coupons that have no purchase requirement are not accepted.
  • Coupons will be rejected if they appear out of proportion, blurry, appear to be altered or are obvious duplicates.
  • Legitimate print at home/printable coupons are never copied, sold, or traded. Nearly all coupons are “non-transferable,” meaning they should not be photocopied or scanned and distributed to others.
City Market does not have an official coupon policy listed online, but they do have a digital coupon policy.  Read it HERE.

Albertsons Market Coupon Policy

Albertsons Stores are not all created equal. The Albertsons store that I post about in this blog relates to the Albertsons Market LLC, which covers Arkansas, Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Louisiana, New Mexico, and Texas.  The deals and prices can very from state to state and store to store; it depends on the manager and cashier.

I feel that Albertsons has the highest prices out of all the grocery stores. However, they do run some great deals.  I recommend only shopping here for the deals and do your normal grocery shopping else where. This is the coupon policy based on the Grand Junction, Colorado Albertsons on Broadway.

  • Albertsons does NOT have a store reward card. You will automatically receive all sale prices.
  • They do not double coupons everyday like Safeway or City Market. Periodically they will have an ad in their newspaper insert which states it is a double or triple coupon week (read the fine print to see how much they will double up to).
  • They do not like to take more than 3-like coupons, but it is dependent upon the cashier not their computer system.
  • Albertsons does not allow coupons that exceed the value of the item you are purchasing. If a coupon is for more than the value of the product, their system will not let them markdown the coupon value. One of 3 scenarios might happen if you present them with this situation. 1. They will refuse to take the coupon. 2. They can markup the product to allow you to get the full value of the coupon. 3. They will give you the face value of the coupon which results in an overage.  It is dependent on the cashier.
  • Albertsons will occasionally put out a $10 of a purchase of $100 or more. The $100 amount is after all coupons and discounts have been applied.
  • If you bring your own bag they offer a $0.05 discount per bag.

8 Grocery Store Courtesy Tips

1. Do NOT clear the shelves.
If you find a great deal please don’t take all of the stock off the shelf. Leave some for other couponers and they will do the same for you.

2. Put unwanted products back where they belong.
It can be frustrating for employees to find cereal in the produce section. Even worse is that it can ruin frozen or refrigerated food by leaving them at room temperature for too long. If you don’t want a product you already picked up, take the time to put it back in the correct location.

3. Leave coupons next to the products that you don’t plan on using.
If you have a coupon for an item that will be expiring and you don’t plan on using it then leave it next to that product. It will save someone else money rather than being tossed in the trash.

4. Be nice to employees.
Occasionally you run into the employee who gets the coupon policy wrong or an employee who rolls their eyes when you give them a huge stack of coupons; they are still people and should be treated with respect. Show them an abundance of kindness and win them over to your side.

5. Grab a cart from the parking lot to use.
If every customer brought in a shopping cart then the store would not have to pay an employee to do that job. If they save money then they are more willing to pass those savings onto the consumer.

6. Do NOT steal all the peelies & tear pad coupons.
You should only take off the peelies if you plan on purchasing the product right then, otherwise leave them for someone who will actually be purchasing the product. Also, it is ok to take a few tear pad coupons but don’t take the entire pad.

7. Let people with fewer items go in front of you in the checkout line.
If you have a huge order with tons of coupons, be nice and let someone with less items go in front of you. By the time they are done you will probably still be working on loading up the conveyor belt. Also, don’t sneak in the 20 items or less lane if you have more than the designated number.

8. Share your knowledge.
If you find a good deal, pass it on. Also, be willing to share with family and friends how you save so much money, it could benefit their financial situation.

Grocery Store Rewards Programs are Valuable!

Yesterday I received these coupons in the mail for FREE products! I receive coupons such as these from City Market because I am a part of their Rewards Program. If you have not signed-up do so TODAY!

**I have noticed that some stores such as Safeway only mail coupons based on your proximity to one of their stores.

How to Save 50% off your Grocery Bill

I love to coupon and save as much as possible every time I go grocery shopping.  However, I realize most people don’t have hours to dedicate to finding savings.  If you follow these basic rules you can save 50% off your grocery bill each week.

  1. Join the Club! Sign-up for your grocery store’s reward card.
  2. Sign-up for the Sunday Newspaper to start getting coupons to your doorstep. Typically it is $1 per week for the Sunday newspaper.
  3. Review the weekly Grocery Store Match-ups. Stock-up on any item that you use frequently that is at a super low price. Plan weekly dinners around the items that are on sale for the week. If something is not on sale and you don’t really need it, then don’t buy it.
  4. Create a Grocery Shopping List. Going to the store blind and hungry can lead to the unneccessary picking up of items you don’t need.
  5. Utilize the Coupon Database. Look up all the items you are planning on purchasing and print the corresponding coupons. Go to Coupon Database.
  6. Don’t be Brand Loyal. If you are willing to use whatever brand is cheapest then you have great opportunities to see huge savings. If you must be brand loyal then make sure you stock up when that brand goes on sale.
